Editorial

In a complete turnaround of events from our previous issue - Women's News will not be closing. We have managed to secure funding to see us through for a further year, and we will strive to secure the existence of the publication beyond that.

As a result this edition does not take the form of a farewell issue; we have stayed with our usual role of providing articles and information of interest to women inIreland and beyond.

Publication of this issue, and of the May/June issue, was made possible by assistance from Women's Support Network. In the Women's Sector section Rosemary Adair, a volunteer with the Women's Support Network has contributed a number of articles.

15th June 2006 was World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, to highlight problems faced by older women we have included some articles on the situation faced by many in relation to poverty and isolation. Discrimination against women seems to be a never ending phenomenon.

We hope you share our joy at our survival. We are, as always very interested in hearing from you on issues of concern, or if you have any comments to make on any of our previous issues
